Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opened its doors to the public at Yas Island on November 4, 2010. The opening was attended by thousands of people and came after three years of construction and preparation.

At the time, Lawrence Franklin, Strategy and Policy Division Director at Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, told Gulf News: “It’s a very significant milestone. Basically, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is another important step in our emergence as a tourist destination and a particularly important step as a leisure tourist destination.”

When Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opened its doors on November 4, 2010, with 20 rides and attractions, it introduced the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa.

Last year, the roller coaster surpassed five million riders. In 2016, the park launched Flying Aces, the world’s first bi-plane themed roller coaster, which also earned three Guinness World Records for World’s Steepest, World’s Fastest Inclined Cable Lift (inclined at a 51-degree angle, with an acceleration of 30 km/h) and World’s Tallest Inverted Loop at 52 metres.

Over a year later, the park introduced the roller coaster; Turbo Track. The rice launches guests from inside the park at 102km/h before they experience a zero-gravity vertical plummet. Over the past decade, the park has added more than 21 rides and attractions.

Over the decade, Ferrari World has hosted a variety of events, including the first International Ferrari Cavalcade in the UAE with 90 Ferrari cars, in 2019.

Celebrities who have visiting the park have included Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc, American rock band The Killers and pop group Fifth Harmony. During its 10 years, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has hosted more than 4,000 seasonal community events, including Winterfest, Chinese New Year and Eid celebrations.
