Day 1
ENTEBBE

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Met and assisted by a representative. Transfer to Entebbe for Overnight at The Boma Guest house (BB)

Day 2
ENTEBBE – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Transfer to Murchison Falls National park, (about 5 hours‘ drive). Evening game drives. Inspired by the breath-taking splendour of the wild landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park, and the history and culture of the Bunyoro region of Uganda, Kabalega Wilderness Lodge will amaze you with its allure and unique location adjacent to one of the biggest natural reserves in Uganda. It comprises of individual safari cabins spread throughout 7 acres of bristling bushes on the banks of the streaming waters of the mighty River Nile.

Kabalega Wilderness lodge derives its name from Omukama (King) Chwa II Kabalega, who was the ruler of Bunyoro in Uganda from 1870 to 1899 and is considered the greatest King in the history of Uganda. The Bunyoro Kingdom is the home of Murchison Falls National Park; the lodge is a tribute to this great king and the people and culture of Bunyoro.

MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Game drives in the park in the morning.

After lunch, take a boat trip on the Nile.

Day 4
ENTEBBE – KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Early drive for about 7 hours to Kibale Forest Park. Primate Lodge Kibale‘s principal edge is their location, tucked deep in the forest and right next door to the starting point for chimpanzee tracking excursions.

All of the nine spacious and en-suite luxury cottages, each secluded deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural living in nature‘ feel, come complete with 2x double size beds or 1x king size bed, a sitting area with two comfortable arm chairs, a reading table and an adjoining large veranda with excellent views to the forest.

Day 5
QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Today we will go chimp tracking in Kibale Forest National Park. After our briefing, we embark on the chimp tracking which takes about 2-3 hours depending on where the chimps are. On the trek you can see other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabeys along with red tailed and blue monkeys. Your expert guide will share the secrets of the forest's flora and fauna, ensuring that the trek is both informative and enjoyable.

In the afternoon, we drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (about 3 hours‘ drive). The drive takes us past volcanic crater lakes and, on a clear day, one can see the famous ?Mountains of the Moon?, the Rwenzori Mountains. In the late afternoon we go on a game drive. Parkview Safari Lodge is located at the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth national park, overlooking panoramic views of the ?medley of wonders? and capturing the beauty of the park in a most memorable way. The building style is a combination of modern and local materials, opening up to the wilderness beyond. The lodge reflects true African ambiance and hospitality, providing comfort to our esteemed guests. This is a home away from home! Our unique cottages are endowed with en-suite bathrooms, private balcony with spectacular views to the park and Bunyaruguru hills.

Day 6
QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

This morning we take game drives in the park. In the late afternoon is a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that is 32 kms long. This water system has the highest concentration of hippos in the world and we will get quite close to them. Expect to see crocodiles, buffaloes and other game that drink from the channel, and also marvel at the abundant birdlife that is supported here.

Day 7
BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

We will drive for about 6 hours to Four Gorilla lodge, the base for gorilla tracking for the next 2 nights. Four Gorillas Lodge consists of 8 spacious, comfortable rooms – each installed with ambient lighting – constant hot and cold water showers, flushing toilets and 24 hour room service.

The interior of both the cottages and the main building are blended up with modern and traditional designs coupled with beautiful timber finishing that provides a cozy, homely atmosphere.

Day 8
BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Today, after an energizing breakfast, you will embark on the gorilla trek. Before 8 am report to the ranger station for registration and briefing by one of the rangers. The guides will then lead you through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from half an hour to 7 hours. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking boots. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. Sadly, there are only about 1,000 of these beautiful creatures left. You are allowed exactly one hour with the gorillas before returning to the base station.

Day 9
DEPARTURE 

 

Take a scheduled flight at 0925hrs/1125hrs, and transfer to the Airport for your onward afternoon departure flight back home

Gorilla permits costs of USD $ 700 Each to be added on the above quote

PLEASE NOTE THAT GORILLA PERMIT OR CHIMPANZEE TRACKING PERMIT AVAILABILITY CANNOT BE GUARANTEED UNTIL WE RECEIVE A DEPOSIT OF US$700 PER GORILLA PERMIT AND ACTUALLY BOOK AND PAY FOR THE PERMITS. THE PROGRAMME OR EVEN DATES OF TRAVEL MAY HAVE TO BE ALTERED IF AFFECTED BY GORILLA PERMIT OR LODGE AVAILABILITY.

Please note we are not able to hold Gorilla Permits provisionally and confirmation of accommodation does not automatically mean confirmation of Gorilla Permits (we will always request for the go ahead to purchase the permits on your behalf, before confirming the bookings). We are only able to book Gorilla Permits on receipt of full payment for them. Once we have secured the Permits we will notify you via email. Permits are NOT confirmed until you receive such notification from us. Once booked, Gorilla Permits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Only a maximum number of permits are issued for each day and they are sold on a first come first serve basis currently at US$700 each permit. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
